Neodymium:Gadolinium Vanadate (Nd:GdVO₄) lases at a wavelength of 1063nm. Needing pumping at a wavelength of 807.5nm, Nd:GdVO₄ is well suited to diode pumping. It has larger absorption and emission cross-sections than Nd:YAG is versatile and is used across a broad range of applications.
Low lasing threshold and high slope efficience
Large stimulated emission cross-section at lasing wavelength
High absorption over a wide pumping wavelength bandwidth
Optical uniaxial and large birefringence, emits polarized laser
Large thermal conductivity, ~ twice of that of Nd:YVO₄
