Ce:YAG Scintillator Crystals

YAG (ce) is a non-hygroscopic, chemically inert inorganic scintillator, the wavelength of maximum emission at 550 nm is well matched to CCD sensitivity. It has reasonably fast (78 ns decay time) with a relatively high light yield of 12% of NaI(TI) scintillator. YAG(ce) can be used in the harsh environment to detect alpha, gamma rays due to its stable physical and mechanical property, especially for electron microscopy applications.

Formula: Y3-3xCe3xAl5O12
Growth Method: Czochralski
Dimension: Max diameter 80 x 200mm length (maximum boule)

Advantage:
  • High coupling efficiency with the silicon photondiode detection
  • No afterglow
  • Compared short decay time
  • Stable physical and chemical property
